My name is Robert (Rob) Hempel, and first and foremost, I am an ordinary man growing in my Christian walk. I want to be completely transparent: I struggle. I stumble. I ask tough questions. Just like everybody else, I am a constant work in progress. That reality is the heartbeat of this entire ministry. This site, ObedienceInHim, was born out of a profound and recent calling, specifically after publishing two faith-based books. I realized I had been blessed with God-inspired insights—a unique blend of deep theological thought and impactful storytelling—that I felt compelled to share with a broader community.
My Story
If my journey proves anything, it's that life is anything but a straight path. There were times when I felt strong in my faith, and other times I honestly just wanted to turn and walk the other way. It felt messy, and it was messy. I've definitely had moments where I felt like I was walking on solid ground, full of faith, but I’ve had just as many moments wrestling with doubt, taking bad falls, and even intentionally stepping off the path completely. Let's be real—that's just part of being human. Yet, here’s the most incredible part, the one constant I’ve always been able to count on: God has never failed to be there. He IS always waiting. He literally keeps showing up to lift me up and he has been that quiet, constant presence, faithful to reach out a hand and provide exactly what I needed, every single time. It’s a story I love to tell because it's a living example of real grace, and an unwavering love that defines who I am.

This site is meant for all who are exploring, questioning, or simply seeking. Whether you identify as an unbeliever, a brand-new believer, a seasoned veteran of faith, or someone who just happens to be passing by—you are our primary audience. We're all travelers on a complex journey, and my aim is to share my own experiences and insights openly, offering an honest perspective that feels both relevant and immediately accessible. My Hope for You
My hope is that believers will be inspired to renew their faith. That people who have not yet become believers will gain a new understanding and accept Christ as their Savior. And that unbelievers will at least have a better understanding of Christianity and be open minded to see what God can do in their lives if they let HIM.
