A New Horizon: Taking the Great Commission to Beijing
The words of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, have been echoing in my heart lately. As believers, we are often reminded of the "Great Commission" found in Matthew 28:19-20, where the disciples were commanded to "go and make disciples of all nations." Throughout Scripture, the call to move outward is clear. In Luke 14:23, we are told to "go out to the highways and hedges and compel people to come in, that my house may be filled," and in Acts 1:8, we are instructed to be witnesses in "Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
With those powerful callings in mind, I am stepping out into a brand-new chapter.
The Journey Ahead
I am excited—and humbled—to share that in the very near future, I will be traveling to Beijing, China. I have accepted a position to teach English at a private academy there for the next year.
While my primary professional focus will be education, I am going with a heart prepared for something much deeper. My greatest hope is that through my daily life, my work, and my relationships, I will be able to share the good news of the Gospel with those I encounter.
How You Can Help
As I prepare for this year-long journey, I am not just asking for well-wishes—I am asking for your prayers. Moving to a new culture with a different language and a different way of life is a massive undertaking. Please pray for:
-
Open Doors: That God would provide natural opportunities to speak about His grace.
-
Wisdom: That I would navigate this new environment with discernment and love.
-
Connection: That I would build meaningful relationships with my students and colleagues.
I am eager to see how God works in the "ends of the earth" and in my own heart during this time. Thank you for standing with me as I go!
